Extended Abstract
Introduction and Objective: Sustainable management and fundamental planning of forest resources requires efficient and high-qualityinformation about the current and future state of the forest. Investigating the current and future state of forest stands, describing the structure of the forest stand, the response of the stand to tending operations are among the capabilities of statistical distributions in forest management. The aim of this research is to compare the height distribution functions of Iranian oak trees in two forest habitats with different vegetation forms in the vegetation zone of the Middle Zagros.
Materials and Methods: In this research, the effect of forest sites with different Vegetative structure on the height probability distribution functions of Iranian oak trees in the vegetation zone of the Middle Zagros was investigated. In order to carry out this research, by doing numerous excursions in the forest, two areas with different structures including coppice with standard (Sefidkoh area) and standard with coppice (Gol area) in the forests of Khorram Abad city. considered In each of these areas, a forest stand with an area of three hectares was selected. In the following, in each of these two selected forest stands, the height of all Iranian oak trees whose height was higher than 1.5 meter was counted 100%. In total, the height of 458 and 348 Iranian oak trees were measured in the two regions of Sefid-Koh and Qala-Gol respectively. In this study, two-index Weibull, two-index gamma, normal, log-normal, beta and Johnson sb statistical distributions were used, and the goodness of fit of the functions used was measured by the Anderson-Darling test.
Result: The results showed that the average height in Sefidkoh area is 6.76 meters and the data is distributed between two values of 1.8 and 18 meters, while in Qala Gol area, the average height of the measured trees is equal to 7.54 meters. And the data are between 1.53 and 14.04 meters. Also, based on the results of the goodness-of-fit test, Johnson's sb and beta functions were introduced in Sefidkoh region (coppice with standard), and in Qala-Gol region (standard with coppice), beta and normal functions were introduced as the most suitable functions for the height classes.
Conclusion:  In sum, the results of this research showed that in the areas where the oak forest has a coppice with standard form, according to the form of distribution (decreasing distribution), the forest has a uneven-aged structure and in the areas where the forest form is standard with coppice The forest has moved towards a single-stemmed and even-aged forest. also, according to the shape of the distributions obtained in the two saits, it was found that the vegetative form of the trees had an effect on the distribution functions of the height of the trees, which can provide useful and useful information for the managers to maintain and control these valuable forests. , planners and researchers.
