گیاهان دارویی از جمله منابع طبیعی ارزشمندی هستند که امروزه مورد توجه کشور­های توسعه ­یافته جهان قرارگرفته و به‌عنوان مواد اولیه جهت تبدیل به دارو­های کم ­خطر و پربازده برای انسان تلقی می­ شوند. یکی از این گونه­‌های با ارزش، درختچه زردکیش (Cionura erecta) است که در مناطق محدود و خاصی از کشور ما پراکنش دارد. هدف از مطالعه حاضر بررسی ترکیبات شیمیایی اسانس این گونه می­ باشد. به­این منظور نمونه ­هایی شامل برگ، ساقه و میوه گیاه از منطقه چهارطاق در استان چهارمحال و بختیاری جمع‌آوری و به ­وسیله دستگاه کلونجر اسانس ­گیری شد. برای شناسایی ترکیبات تشکیل­‌دهنده اسانس از دستگاه کراماتوگراف گازی متصل ­شده به طیف‌سنج  جرمی (GC-MS)، با مقایسه شاخص ­های بازداری و مطالعه طیف­‌های جرمی استفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد اسانس این گونه دارای ترکیبات ارزشمندی چون  اوژنول (Eugenol)، اکسید کاریوفیلن (Caryophyllene oxide)، سدرون (Cedron-9- one) و آلفا کادینول (Alpha cadinol) است که در صنعت و داروسازی و کنترل آفات کاربرد فراوانی دارند. در این بررسی مجموعاً 23 ترکیب شناسایی شد که در این میان ترکیبات آلفا مورولن (Alpha murolene)، سدرون  و اوژنول، بیشترین مواد مؤثر اسانس را به خود اختصاص داد. همچنین نتایج این مطالعه نشان داد که اسانس گونه مورد مطالعه از نظر عناصر معدنی فسفر، منیزیم، آهن، مس، سدیم و روی غنی می­ باشد.
