تشریح ساختار می­ تواند به‌عنوان یکی از مهم‌ترین ابزارها در مدیریت جنگل مورد استفاده قرار گیرد. مطالعه ویژگی‌های ساختاری گونه‌هایی از قبیل قره‌تاج (Anagyris foetida L.) در جنگل‌های زاگرس از اولویت خاصی برخوردار بوده و حفاظت از آن‌ الزامی است. تحقیق حاضر در تلاش است تا به بررسی ویژگی‌های ساختاری این گونه بپردازد. منطقه مورد مطالعه با مساحت 930 هکتار در هفت کیلومتری شرق شهرستان گیلانغرب در استان کرمانشاه واقع شده است. به ­منظور انجام این مطالعه، ابتدا‌ محدوده موردنظر تعیین و سپس با استفاده از GPS مرز آن بسته شد. سپس با استفاده از روش نمونه‌برداری تصادفی-سیستماتیک اقدام به آماربرداری توده مورد بررسی گردید. نوع گونه، قطر، ارتفاع، تاج پوشش شامل تاج اصلی و تاج فرعی برداشت گردید. همچنین، فاصله و آزیموت درختان نسبت به هم محاسبه و ثبت گردید. نتایج نشان داد گونه‌های قره‌تاج، بلوط، انجیر و زالزالک به ­ترتیب با داشتن 62/1%، 27/6%، 5/7% و 4/84% فراوانی مهم­ترین گونه‌های درختی موجود هستند. سطح مقطع برای گونه‌‌ی قره‌تاج،  سایر گونه‌ها و کل توده به‌ترتیب حدود 0/2، 0/5 و 0/74 مترمربع در هکتار است. تاج­پوشش برای گونه­ های موجود در توده مورد بررسی شامل قره‌تاج،  بلوط ایرانی و سایر گونه‌ها به‌ترتیب 65/55%، 26/2% و 8/25% محاسبه گردیده ‌است. بیشتر شاخص‌ها، الگوی پراکنش مکانی را به­ صورت کپه‌ای نشان دادند.
