جنگل ها دارای ارزش های زیست محیطی، اقتصادی و اجتماعی بالقوه بالایی هستند که حفاظت از این اکوسیستم و جلوگیری از هرگونه دخل و تصرف غیراصولی در آن حائز اهمیت فراونی می باشد. لذا بالا بودن ارزش اقتصادی کل جنگل ها از جمله جنگل های فندقلو، اهمیت حفاظت مستمر آنها را دو چندان می نماید. جنگل فندقلوی اردبیل جزو جنگل های حفاظتی- تفرجی بوده که عمده محصول فرعی در این منطقه فندق است. هدف از انجام این بررسی ارزیابی درآمد حاصل از تولید فندق و عوامل موثر در مدیریت این محصول در منطقه جنگلی فندقلوی اردبیل
می باشد. روش این مطالعه به صورت پیمایشی در خصوص محصول فرعی فندق بوده و جامعه آماری آن بهره برداران محصول فندق در منطقه مورد مطالعه می باشد. در این مطالعه تعداد 79 نفر از بهره برداران فندق به صورت تصادفی جهت تکمیل پرسشنامه انتخاب شدند. متغیرهایی از قبیل میزان مصرف، فروش، درامد خانوار در سال، رانت اقتصادی، میزان اشتغال ایجاد شده و غیره محاسبه گردید. بر طبق نتایج، سهم درآمد از ناحیه برداشت میوه نسبت به درآمد کل 3/20 درصد می باشد. میزان سود اقتصادی حاصل از تولید فندق و رانت اقتصادی به ترتیب 1397000 ریال و 8982710 ریال به ازای هر هکتار در سال برآورد گردید. در نهایت ارزش مورد انتظار هر هکتار جنگل از محل برداشت محصول فندق 17965420 ریال به دست آمد. میزان اشتغال سالیانه از محل تولید فندق در منطقه مورد بررسی 19 نفر محاسبه شد. میتوان نتیجه گیری نمود که جنگل های فندق با توجه به دارا بودن سهم بالا در درامد بهره برداران باید با توجه به ظرفیت برداشت پایدار بهره برداری و مدیریت گردد.
